Remarks & Notes
The westbound Carl Sandburg is only a few mintues from making its 9am station stop at Mendota. Here the train screams out of Earlville about 5 miles east of Mendota. The old signals and poles lines are being torn out and replaced taking away alot of the curb appeal for this line.

Railroad Pole Lines

Album created by member Matt Weldon

Photos showing the railroad pole lines. The pole line used four basic electrical circuits - telegraph, telephone, signaling, and power. Modern technologies of fiber optics, microwave, radio, satellite, and computers have been replacing the pole lines.
