This image was taken in early February at Government Center as a dozen commuters or so wait for a Green Line E train going to the end of the line at Lechmere. This is the seventh B or D train that turned at Government Center, and the commuters still wait patiently.
When it's in the single digits outside, the wait in the warm underground station doesn't feel so bad. Despite the industrial and run-down feeling of many T stations, many Bostonians feel at home, maybe even cozy, in the underground stations away from the cold and snow.
The MBTA is very dear to me. The first trains I ever rode as a toddle to teenager were those of the "T" Here is a collection of MBTA Subway and trolley I have found on RP from the 60's thru today.
