Remarks & Notes
A brand new ES44C4 leads the 80 car (63 blue SWFX and 17 old heavy SWFX) Blue Looper down the hill near milepost 7 on the Lee Ranch Subdivision.. Fortunately I shot the train when I did, as in under 24 hours, car #11 would derail due to a hot journal. Once in Holbrook, AZ, the Apache Railway will take only 60 cars due to the 10-car-per-Alco rating. Friday, the Apache will come to Holbrook and take the remaining 19 (since that one derailed), plus what ever manifest they have in the yard. Its a real cool train and the power on the way to Snowflake is oodles better than a new C4! ;-)
