| In a time honored tradition, the crew connects a hose to Shay 11's siphon intake. Another crew member will turn on the steam powered siphon and the locomotive will draw water up from the trackside tank in to the tender. This was very helpful in the logging days when all the crew needed to fill up was a hose and a nearby creek. |
