| The former DW&P Depot near the end of Chestnut Street in Virginia, MN provides the background for a couple of guys fishing on Silver Lake on a Sunday evening. The three story depot was built in 1913 on pilings and concrete and made of sandstone and brick. The building was built to provide passenger service to Virginia and did so for the DW&P for many years until July 1, 1961. The station was sold to Northern State Bank in the late 70's and today is still the home of the local bank. |
