| 3 freshly rebuilt SD45Rs are the power for today's LA to Seattle SP runthrough train. The BN crew took over this train at Brooklyn yard in Portland OR. SP power sure looked good when it was clean. This track is where the inbound power would be placed or servicing. The building closest to the Amtrak loco was appropriately name "The Smoke House." Hostlers and helpers would fuel and sand the units and mechanics would check fuel levels and perform minor repairs like brake pad adjustments and or replacement. |
