| NS L3A pulls forward with a cut of cars ready for transport. This area was once a busy place and home to Springfield's largest freight yard. Today the turntables, roundhouses and shop buildings are long gone. All that remains from the once mighty NYC yard is 3 yard tracks, a signal bridge and radio tower. The track under the signal bridge was the last thing to go and was removed by Conrail in the 90's. |
