The Peninsular Railfans Club promoted a trip on the Atlantic Coast Line on May 1, 1949. The round trip originated in Tampa, ran east to Lakeland, and continued north to Rainbow Springs. A stop at the Lakeland roundhouse was included. One of the spotless locomotives on display was ACL 4-6-2 457, one of 27 P-4 Class locomotives built in 1917 by the Baldwin Locomotive Works. She had 69" drivers, 23 x 28 inch cylinders, boiler pressure of 200 lbs, and produced 36,493 lbs of tractive effort. This Bill Lenoir image from Jim Herron's collection was captured at the open air roundhouse in Lakeland, Florida.
