| Abandoned and forlorn along the southern shore of the Great Salt Lake, a former Salt Lake Garfield & Western interurban car rusts away along the briny waters of the lake, some 15 miles west of downtown Salt Lake City. This former McGuire-Cummings electric interurban car was placed on display in the 1970s as a monument to a popular mode of travel to the Saltair resort that once stood along the shore. Today it serves as a hangout for campers, curious sightseers and (believe it or not) a popular backdrop for wedding photography. |
