| Switching at Cumbres Pass. A D&RGW Brakeman battles the glare of the evening sun as he and the crew of a westbound freight perform some switching moves in the yard at Cumbres Pass. His day, which began just after dawn on the dual-gauge line out of Alamosa, will end in darkness at Chama, just 13 miles and about an hour's running time to the west.
