| DB 01 Pacific No 001 150-2 climbs the 1 in 40 gradient of the Schiefe Ebene (crooked level) from Neuenmarkt-Wirsberg to Marktschorgast with a Lichtenfels to Hof train just two weeks before the end of regular steam working on this celebrated route.
By coincidence since posting this photo I have read that this loco has just had a major overhaul at Meiningen during which it has received a new boiler. Hopefully we can look forward to seeing it back in action after many years out of use. |
