Remarks & Notes
With a full moon high in the sky, illuminating this backlit scene, the WAS E.E. Alleghany displays a "Medium Clear Indication" for westbound E502 approaching from the east. Nestled deep in Alleghany County Virginia, over a mile from a handful of houses and a two lane country road, this remote location has even seen the effects of so called, "progress". This signal was removed from service and its replacement activated in the background just 48 hours from when this photo was taken, less than a day ago. A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
