Zipping along in unfamiliar territory, past the well-tended hedges of Leicestershire is ex-London & South Western Railway 'M7' class 0-4-4 Tank No.53 sporting Southern Railway livery. The 105-strong class had long lives, introduced in March 1897 and continuing to be built until 1911. Many of them lasted into the 60s and No.53 (as BR No.30053) was finally withdrawn in May 1964 with 59 years service behind her. One other M7 is also preserved.
