Running on time today, the southbound Crescent pulls into Birmingham for a quick station stop before blasting off with the Phase I painted Amtrak 156 locomotive at the point. Representing Amtrak’s first standard locomotive paint scheme, the 156 is one of five heritage locomotives celebrating Amtrak’s 40th anniversary. This is the second heritage painted locomotive captured by this lens in the Magic City.
