| Remnants of one of the first RR Tunnels in Eastern Kentucky still serves the inhabitants as a roadway as seen here. Originally constructed as part of the Chatteroi Railroad, this line was conceived as a narrow gauge line, but during construction was changed to standard. It served one of the first large scale mines in Eastern Kentucky near Richardson, known as the Peach Orchard mine. Remnants of it can still be found if you look closely... |
