Remarks & Notes

A westbound B&O manifest was climbing upgrade at Brackens, PA on Oct. 22, 1978, led by GP38 No. 3833. The fifth unit was a WM F unit. At this point, B&O was literally running the remaining WM F units to death. They would run until they had a significant failure and they would be retired. The westbound ahead of this one had two WM F units and a B&O GP7 headed for the scrap dealer.
