Remarks & Notes |
WAMX 705 is a former CR GP30 nee PRR now converted to a Road Mate, it's mother unit is a former C&NW GP50. So CSX isn't the only ones with a 30 style slug. Of the 52 GP30s PRR purchased which were classified as a EF-22, this is the only known unit still turning a wheel in revenue service. WAMX 302 seen at the following link is also a as built PRR unit but it's life has been cut short as it stands out of service. The unit was converted to Remote Control Receiver Platform. http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=390914&nseq=3 If you look closely one can still make out the mounting pads where PRR's train phone system antennas were mounted along the edge of the roof line. |
