The 14E/14E1s are rated by many as the ugliest looking locomotives on TFR. The designers of the prototypes at SLM certainly did not have aesthetics in mind when they drew up the bodywork! Two 'ugly ducklings' are seen here in charge of the luxury Blue Train, exiting Tunnel 3 (1.2Km long) on the Hex River Tunnel System. They only have 700m to go before entering the longest tunnel of the system (13.2Km).
Classes 7E, 9E, 11E, 14E, 15E, 19E, 20E and 21E.
7E & 11E are 25kv AC locos. 9E & 15E are 50kv AC locos and the remainder are dual-voltage (25kv AC & 3kv DC).
The worst of railroad design. Please, send me your entries / suggestions for the "Album of the ugly trains of the world" (past or present, paint scheme or shape).
