Railfanning in the New River Gorge.. A perfect example of railroading along one of the most scenic rail lines in West Virginia; the New River Gorge. A near half moon silhouettes the massive New River Gorge bridge, spanning a total of 3,030 ft and serving as the World's longest steel single-span arch bridge, while a work train illuminates the interlocking of W.E. Fayette. The violent rapids of the National New River to the left roar over the sounds of the wheel flanges and crossing bells in this 56" exposure.
This is dedicated (with permission) to the skilled and gifted photographer - Chase Gunnoe - who regularly posts and is on staff with RP. I believe he deserves a gallery showcasing his remarkable photos. This is for you Chase! (More great photos to come!)
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
