Rio Grande GP9 5922 meets caboose 01471 at D&RGW's Provo Yard. The 01471 was built at D&RGW's Burnham shop in Feb. 1955, painted black with twin yellow horizontal stripes to indicate it was 'Radio Equipped'. The 5922, blt. by EMD in June 1955, is taking a breather between shifts having worked the daytime Provo Switcher. This image was scanned from an old Ektachrome transparency and photographed with my first Canon camera, a second hand FT when I was 13. I have a multitude of wonderful memories spending time at trackside with my father and this particular day was just one of many.
