Remarks & Notes
This shot brings back some great memories of an event that will never again happen. Even today, I'm amazed I was a part of it. This scene was taken by my friend Joe Givens. I was on board the train (standing in a baggage car door back there with my friend Steve Patterson). This year (2012) marks 20 years since this took place. Of course, this is the 50th running of the famed Clinchfield Santa Claus Special, powered by UP's 3985, disguised as "Clinchfield 676" (one number higher than the virtually identical 4-6-6-4s of this same class operated by the CRR over this very route).
