GP30 graveyard On Christmas day in 1994, the contract scrappers working in Shops Yard at North Fond du Lac are nowhere to be found and surely home with their families, as are most of the railroaders in town. Two GP30s, including No. 717, are in the middle of being cut up by the Wisconsin Central. The next day, the scrappers will go back to work, acetylene torches hissing and popping, further reducing Nos. 709 and 717 to pieces of metal scraps and parts; 1963-1994, R.I.P.
