Nothing quite says California like one of Chico's classic stations amid the palms and jacaranda. The Santa Fe's Riverside station no longer serves train passengers. A new Metrolink station has been built just west of it. But it does still see a heck of a lot of trains. Both BNSF and Union Pacific send a huge amount of freight down the tracks behind the building, while Amtrak and Metrolink chip in with some passenger runs too.
