Remarks & Notes
The Great Western Railway once operated a maze of lines radiating into the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire. These forest lines threaded their way delightfully through the myriad of tiny villages and hamlets that served the mining and forestry industries that used to abound in this lovely part of Britain. 9681 cautiously hauls a short freight train between Whitecroft's white stone walls and narrow footpaths that line its route towards Parkend.
