| Crossrail train 40086 from Piacenza to Aachen West with locomotives 185 599 and 185 597 (capable for running in Switzerland, Germany and Austria, rented from Beacon Rail) is crossing the 83 meter long Stalvedro viaduct near Airolo over the Ticino river. This viaduct was the first on the Gotthard line, which was rebuilt as concrete arch covered with natural stone in 1952. Before it was a truss bridge. |
