Remarks & Notes

A brand new EMD SD40T-2 basks in the afternoon sun at the new Castle Gate coal loading facility in Price Canyon. The photo was captured on Kodachrome 64 slide film on the photographer's 17th birthday. Only the power plant and the tracks mark this location today. It would require a couple of decades time before the photographer would realize what a gift is was to witness this event with all of the changes yet to come.
