May 15, 1977 would have been a perfect day to ride the Rio Grande Zephyr. Pick a dome, any dome, we've got five of them! The survivor of the streamliner age grinds its way east toward Soldier Summit photographed at Detour, Utah. My father and good friend Steve Seguine are visible grabbing a shot at track level. I was but a teenager back then and ascended a steep hill to garner this perspective looking east toward the upper Gilluly horseshoe. What I wouldn't give to have that kind of energy once again (not to mention the Rio Grande Zephyr).
