Auto rack train 275 works upgrade at Deep Hollow Road near Sloans Valley (also known as "Keno" to some). The grade here is .83 percent, and the milepost is 173.4. This 9.045 mile line change was one of six major projects to open up the CNO&TP in 1962-1963. This particular stretch (the largest of the projects) was opened for traffic on April 23, 1963. The Tateville to KD Tower stretch alone cost $10.5 M in 1962-63 dollars. Adjusted for inflation to 2012 values, it would be nearly $79 M! It was originally single track, but NS added the second main in 1998.
