After a 5 minute stop to let the brakes cool, this trio of class 34 GE U26C's heads out of Groot Marico with a westbound container train. The silver posts alongside the track used to carry the steel cables that operated the points and semaphore signals that were once in use here. Now the points are manually operated, connected to disc signals.
