Remarks & Notes |
The "Wabash" heritage unit is on the point of a 703 train slowly backing toward the mine at Wentz, VA for loading to Georgia Power. This is the Stonega Branch of the former Interstate Railroad, merged into Southern Railway in 1961. The train has traffic backed up on Va. Route 600, which dead ends at the mining company's property line (Alpha Natural Resources is the current owner/operator). |
