Remarks & Notes

A train of coal from the Horse Canyon and Sunnyside mines climbs westward on the approach to Soldier Summit. A two unit helper set is shoving on the rear of the train. Note the single track mainline between Colton and East Soldier Summit. The second main track would be added here by the spring of 1983.
