| The opportunities for snow and particularly train photos in the snow, are pretty rare in Kwazulu Natal. Here is 18-126 at the front of a "Python" - 65 X CAR Wagons (Coal) passing through Balgowan enroute to Cato Ridge to cut off the load. 18-126 and the other four units would then run as light units back to the Umbilo Electric Locomotive Depot in Durban. Transnet Freight Rail had no option but to shut the line down shortly after this photo was taken, as heavy snow falls in the Mooi River area had downed trees and knocked out the power supply. |
