The Fall color of the 2011 season surprisingly was one of the more impressive of colors. Cooler nights and rain earlier in the year had helped the colors change not only early, but brought out some of the most impressive vibrant colors near the peak. As seen on October 10th, 2011, an eastbound coal train snakes through what is presumably near 'Pando' on the eastbound N&W mainline. The train has just exited a tunnel, and will soon reenter another one along NS' Heartland Corridor between Williamson and Bluefield.
This is dedicated (with permission) to the skilled and gifted photographer - Chase Gunnoe - who regularly posts and is on staff with RP. I believe he deserves a gallery showcasing his remarkable photos. This is for you Chase! (More great photos to come!)
