It's George Washington's birthday, 1958, and Pennsy is borrowing power from it's southern connections to augment the GG1 fleet on the corridor as a freak snowstorm a few days earlier had crippled the fleet. Here a set of vintage 1st generation EMD's wait in a siding to hook on to a consist as seen from the rear of a passing train. The Godfather was riding to Penn Station in NY.
