Remarks & Notes
A cable winching system or car mover is used to pull empty woodchip hoppers under the loadout, seen in the distance. The winch motors are housed in the yellow boxes on both sides of the tracks, with the heavy cable paralleling the track to the anchored pulley in the foreground. The sawhorses and chain on the opposite track warn workers of the dangers around the moving cables. Site of the old Blue Diamond Coal Company, International Paper currently loads hardwood chips in hoppers destined for North Carolina and their papermill at Calhoun.

Pictures of things often unseen in the world of railroading. Interesting equipment, operations, and people that help the railroad go around.
