A Los Angeles MTA Expo Line train heads south out of downtown Los Angeles on November 11th, 2012. This is the point at which the Blue Line to Long Beach and the Expo Line to Culver City separate, with the Blue Line tracks curving to the right. This junction, at Flower and Washington, was in the news in July 2012, as California state regulators ordered LAMTA to replace a flawed frog that they felt could trigger a derailment. It isn't often that one hears of a rail frog in a news story!
