Montana Rail Link’s train No. 840, the Helena Local, curves along the Missouri River and the heart of Lombard Canyon, Montana, on the morning of September 22, 2009. On the point is a matching pair of EMD SD40s, Nos. 253 and 252, that MRL classifies as SD40-2XRs (rebuilt SD40s to Dash 2 standards that are eXtra Reliable).
