Remarks & Notes
Cajon Pass' two tunnels were demolished in 2007/2008 to make way for a third mainline. Now, the closest thing approximating a tunnel on the Pass are the quasi-tunnels under Interstate 15. The lead engine (ES44C4 7076) on BNSF tain O-SBDSBD2-15, heading downgrade on Track 2, has just popped into the sunlight once again as the annual California Division Christmas Train approaches CP Walker (named for longtime Santa Fe employee and railfan Chard Walker) as the first of two San Bernardino to Summit roundtrips threads its way through the Pass on December 15th, 2012.
