The lesson tonight was that a steam train moving not far from you in the moonlight is like a huge bear walking a trail close enough to take you out. Let me tell you, an all black locomotive lumbering in the darkness is pretty damn scary. With only isolated spots of of headlight, class lights, and firebox in the dark to presage it's passing, it reveals it's self in all it's glory in 1/30,00th of a second of blue light.
