Remarks & Notes
Some remnants of The Chicago, Ottawa and Peoria Electric Line can still be found today, like this depot in Minooka. The Interurban was started in 1909 and was one of the states longest lines. The main line paralleled the Rock Island Railroad (which is between the grain silos and the depot.) By the 1930's it days had come to an end, thanks to the popularity of the automobile and the Great Depression.
