Remarks & Notes
Impala Platinum is the worlds second largest platinum mine and operates an extensive electrified (3000v DC) rail system serving 14 shafts. After a brief midday summer thunderstorm soaked the area, Impala Platinum's class 8E Bo-Bo electric no.1 heads out to one of the shafts with its train of empties to collect another load of ore. The speed bump warning is for the adjacent road, not for the trains :-))
