Westbound on the former C&O mainline from Gladstone to Clifton Forge, a westbound deadhead move of CSX's Office Car train slices through the town of Iron Gate, east of Clifton Forge. CSX's executive F40PH's, No. 9998 and 9992 supplied the power to the eight car consist enroute to Russell, KY for an inspection trip down CSX's Big Sandy Subdivision to Shelby and eventually south on former Clinchfield rails.
This is dedicated (with permission) to the skilled and gifted photographer - Chase Gunnoe - who regularly posts and is on staff with RP. I believe he deserves a gallery showcasing his remarkable photos. This is for you Chase! (More great photos to come!)
Pace and pan shots of trains from on the ground or in the air. If you're not in the locomotive cab or on-board the train, it's the next best thing to being there.
