The Great Western Railway of Colorado could often be found hauling sugar beet trains of about 40 to 50 cars length. Not all trains were as such, however, as this morning we find #90 hauling a mixed train. Passenger service only lasted 9 years on the Great Western, between 1917 and 1926 but up and till the spring of 1972, all its trains were “mixed trains,” so you could buy a round-trip ticket and ride in the caboose with the train crew. which was many of us did during this Lerro Productions time warp.
