Not a lot runs on the old DRGW mainline in the Utah Desert these days. A handful of manifests, maybe a coal train or two and the California Zephyr is about it in any given 24 hour period. That said, it is great when you can catch one of these trains! Here, the eastbound Zephyr is running about 30 minutes late as it comes through the largely-abandoned town of Thompson. Until 1997, this was an Amtrak station stop! Now, that stop is about 25 miles west in Green River.
