All three of Rio Grande’s GP60s lead five other assorted locomotives on Union Pacific’s DVROM (Denver to Roper Yard manifest) freight west of Clay, Colorado, on January 4, 1998. The train is about to cross Blue Mountain Drive grade crossing and is approaching Coal Creek Canyon and Tunnel 1. Rio Grande only had three GP60s, Nos. 3154-3156, built in 1990 as an add-on to a larger Southern Pacific order. I never did find out why No. 3154 had those silver/white scotchlight stripes added during the SP era.
