Casualties of Progress With the signal upgrade in full swing along the CSX S&NA Subdivision between Birmingham and Montgomery, changes are already underway at the South End Calera control point. Unfortunately, this upgrade of signals along the CSX mainline means that the familiar General Railway Signal Co. searchlight signals protecting the interlocking with CSX on the dark territory NS Anniston District must also come down too. This is another reminder of why photography is such a great hobby, it’s a way to keep the past alive.
