Montana Rail Link's ML (Missoula-Laurel) manifest freight showed up just a few minutes before sunrise on a beautiful day in Big Sky country. The intense morning light, which was made even more so because of distant forest fires, was just starting to hit the distant hills, when the train rolled along the Missouri River, and crossed under the old Milwaukee Road Pacific Extension.
