Remarks & Notes

UP's Salt Lake City to Denver manifest climbs eastward through the photogenic upper Gilluly horseshoe curve on the climb to Soldier Summit. The 80 car train is 4681 feet long with 6133 tons moving at a steady 15 mph. Out of view (at left) is a three pack of Rio Grande tunnel motors cut in mid train.
