| At 103 tons, Cass Scenic No. 11 (ex- Feather River Railway No. 3) is one of the largest Shays operating in the United States. (Of course, it pales in comparison to the 162-ton Western Maryland No. 6, the "superstar Shay" at Cass.) Here No. 11 is being steamed up in the company of Cass No. 4 on a rainy spring morning in the Appalachian Mountains. |
