Harmony Gold's GE 65-tonner # 6, built in 1950 and imported from Schenectady, NY, USA hauls 5 empty hoppers from Bambanani East to the workshops. At 63 years of age, this is most likely the oldest operating diesel locomotive in South Africa. In the background is one of the massive slime dams where the waste material from mining operations is pumped to settle and eventually harden.
